Gage Industries is small. One founder, one production facility, no sales team. You should weigh that — and here is how it can't hurt you. Everything below is contract language we offer up front, not a promise we make on a call.
Our contracts state it plainly: the customer owns all data. You can pull a full export — CSV and SQL — whenever you want, and you get one at termination automatically. No export fee, no "talk to support," no hostage negotiation. And if you want out: 30-day termination for convenience, with a pro-rata refund.
We offer source-code escrow to founding customers. The release triggers are in writing: insolvency, abandonment of the product, a support failure left unremediated for 30 days — and founder incapacity. One person builds this software. If something happens to that person, you get the code. We'd rather name that risk in a contract than have you discover it in a crisis.
That's not a line most vendors will put on a website. Most vendors don't have to. We do, and we think saying so is worth more than pretending otherwise.
If escrow ever releases, your license converts to a perpetual right to self-host your own instance. Your work orders, your PM history, your equipment records — running on your hardware, for as long as you want them.
Every contract includes a 3-year price lock. After that, renewal increases are capped at CPI or 5%. No auto-renew traps — renewal is a decision you make, not a default you missed. Pricing is published.
We don't promise 24/7 follow-the-sun support, because we can't staff it and you'd find out the hard way. Our contracts commit to what we can hit: P1 response within 4 business hours, P2 by the next business day — with service credits if we miss. When you call, you reach someone who knows the product, because the person who built it is the person answering. And yes — at a 24/7 plant, a Saturday 2am failure waits for Monday morning under these terms. We print that instead of promising a night desk we don't staff. Your data exports on demand — or set a nightly push and a copy lands in storage you control, automatically. A support gap is an inconvenience, never a hostage situation.
We'd rather tell you exactly what we are than let you guess.
Ask for any of the terms above by name. They're pre-offered — you don't have to negotiate for them.
